In Taiwan, the temples attracting numerous pilgrims are usually magnificent but noisy. On the contrary, those tranquil ones sited in secluded area are of little interest to visitors though they can bring peace to the pilgrims. However, Xuankong Temple, located in the countryside at Tainan, has hit the balance.

With white pillars, blue eaves and golden domes, this temple has an appearance different from others. The colorful painting on the wall has made the temple more enthralling to visitors. There are Buddha statues of different sizes all around the temple, including the Buddha head statue of thousand-year history that is purchased from China, as well as a series of Tai Chi stone sculptures by Ju Ming, a renowned Taiwanese sculptor. The art collections of the temple are more than just that. Taiwan Short Leaf Pines, silicified woods and stalactites are even more precious. In addition, the giant rock placed in the center of temple, weighing more than a hundred tones, is the largest stone among others by Taiwanese temples. The God of War revered in the temple is carved out of white jade, yet it is untouchable.

There is a donation box in front of the statue of Guanyin with One Thousand Hands for main hall construction fundraising. The temple is still under expansion and expected to be more majestic after years of development.
