Taipei City Mall

Taipei City Mall is not that easy to find. If you are neither great with maps nor originally from Taipei, you can easily get confused with the complicated underground market routes. The Taipei Main Station is like a maze, there are routes to the Q Square, to the K Mall, to the Zhongshan Metro Mall, and to the Station Front Metro Mall. Tons of options, but today we are introducing the Taipei City Mall, which locates between the Taipei Main Station and the Taipei Bus Station for around 1 km. If the underground maze confuses you, you can always get out of the station. Find the Civic Blvd. (beneath the viaduct), entering the nearest underground entrance, and you will arrive at the Taipei City Mall.This underground mall collects various stores that it is almost like an indoor night market, only without the great food and delicious treats. Among accessories, shoes, clothes, umbrellas, even fortune-telling and guns from survival game stores, the most you will see are in fact, model shops and video game shops. Here is where you can find the legally cheap games. There are big TV screens in front of these stores, they are not only for you to try out the games, but also host competitions occasionally. Around these stores, you will often find people gathering around the corners to play PSPs and NDSs. When you get thirsty after all the walking and you do not want to risk on the questionable looking drinks from the shops, there are water fountains every few corners where you can get free water.
