Baisha Bay

Tucked away on the scenic North Coast, Baisha Bay (literally “white sand bay”) is a favorite local beach of many northern Taiwanese people. Considered as one of the best spots for summertime beach outings, this crescent-shaped bay boasts a one-kilometer-long beach blessed with white sands, great surfing conditions and a breathtaking shoreline.

Kenting is no doubt a prime spot for water activities, but for those who live in the north and can’t make the time traveling all the way down to the south, they love making day trips to Baisha Bay so as to beat the sweltering heat of summer. Baisha Bay is also a popular destination for a wealth of water activities such as surfing and kayaking. Although Baisha Bay is known for the fine white sand, it is no struggle to find a secluded space along this barely-developed stretch of beach. This is not a typical tourist beach resort, just a laid-back, charming retreat offering pearly-white sand, clear blue water and dark volcanic rocks. If you happen to be a fan of extreme sports, the hills backing the beach provide the perfect launch spot for the adrenaline-pumping paragliding.
