If you are not walking from the Taipei Main Station, it is hard to spot this magnificent European style architecture hidden in the 228 Memorial Park near National Taiwan University Hospital. Upon entering the National Taiwan Museum, the vaulted ceiling and the finely carved columns strike visitors with great impact, as if entering a cathedral in Rome. The exhibitions indoors mainly focus on Taiwan’s aboriginal culture, introducing all the different aboriginal tribes in different areas of Taiwan. Their garments, ceremonies, and lifestyles are all shown in these displays, allow visitors to get to know the people who lived on this island from the very beginning. In addition to this majestic building, the Taiwan Land Bank Exhibition Hall across the street and the Nanmen Park near the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall are both branches of the National Taiwan Museum.
