Shadao

Shadao is actually a small bay area. The beach sand of this place has the highest proportion of shell sand among the eight shell sand beaches in Kenting. Shell sand is formed by fragments of corals and shellfish. The energy of the wave crushes the shells day and night to form the sand. You can see the process in the exhibition hall. However, this place was closed to be a reservation area due to the fact that there is a large amount of sand being excavated and sold to Hawaii and Japan. Many tourists and aquariums also took the sand back, so the government decided to close the beach for some time for the beach to recover. However, the coral beach next to Shadao is still open. While taking a stroll around, you might discover some hermit crabs crawling on the beach. This is truly a picturesque area for you to spend some quality time enjoying the blended view of the sea and the sky.

As a preserved area, the beach in Shadao is actually not allowed to enter. Visitors can only enter the coral beach next to it.
