Many young visitors coming to Kenting love to stay as close to the Kenting Street as possible. Apart from a lively nightlife that features various delicious snacks and South Pacific style nightclubs, those affordable and seaward B&Bs, which are only a minute walk to the beaches, are the main reason that attracts tourists. In the past, the former Kenting beach was a messy place rife with barbecues and fireworks. Nowadays, after it has been rented to Chateau Beach Resort, which appears in the movie Cape No. 7., the beach was able to take a rest and has been restored into the serene "Dawan." Although the beach is less frequented than Xiaowan and Nanwan, and jet skis are not rented here, Dawan is thereby made into a clean and quiet beach in Kenting. However, that’s also why shower rooms and sunshades cannot be found here. If you want sunbathing, please remember to bring your own equipment.
