Lulin Giant Tree

Located in the Xinyi Township of Nantou, Lulin Giant Tree is recognized as one of the most remarkable trees in taiwan. Perched at an altitude of 2,375 meters, Lulin Giant Tree is a 2700-year-old Formosan cypress with the height of 43 meters and the circumference of 20 meters. It is a grand visual treat that Mother Nature bestows upon us.

With its hardly visible location, the giant tree that hides below the cliff’s edge was not discovered until recent years. A trail has now been set up for visitors to witness the grandeur of the giant tree. It is far too big to fit in the viewfinder. If you are traveling between Alishan and Sun Moon Lake, make sure you stop by Lulin Giant Tree on the way — it is very worth a visit.
