Jinlongshan

There are few things greater than a beautiful sunrise to start your day, and Jinlongshan located in the Yuchi Township of Nantou is one of the best places to catch some golden rays at dawn. Other prime locations include Hehuanshan, Cingjing Farm and Sun Moon Lake, but the remote Jinlongshan is the least visited, hence the most peaceful for relaxed exploration.

After driving through a series of hairpin turns, you should leave your car at the parking area before hiking along the trail to the top. There are three pavilions up on the mountain while the highest one offers the best views of Yuchi basin. Be prepared for the golden hued rays of sunrise that softly caress the horizon and bleed like fire over the mountain – every single second is a marvel itself. Jinlongshan is also a good spot to admire the vast sea of clouds that spread out right before you, with the surrounding mountains shrouded in mist and clouds, creating a dreamy sight to the eyes.

You will see many photography enthusiasts geared up to capture incredible photographs. As there is not much space for everyone to place a tripod, be there early to get a decent viewing spot.
