Peacock Garden

The Peacock Garden was closed since 2016.

Located along the road encircling Sun Moon Lake, Peacock Garden is a mini zoo and home to more than 200 peacocks and birds from more than 100 species. The grass field in the middle is where the peacocks roam freely. If you are lucky enough, you might spot dozens of them spreading their beautiful tails at the same time, and the white peacocks are particularly prized and gorgeous. Other precious fowl such as golden pheasants, silver pheasants and blue magpies can be found in the garden as well.

Peacock Garden was established in 1968 on the instruction of then-President Chiang Kai-shek to add to the beauty of this tranquil lake. Admission is free, and no car parking charges apply. It is not only an ideal destination for families with the little ones but also a perfect stopover on your cycling or walk tour around Sun Moon Lake.
