Address
Zhenxibao, Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County 313, Taiwan (R.O.C.)
An approximately three hour drive from Hsinchu High Speed Rail Station, Zhenxibao is situated near Xinguang Tribe and has trails connecting to distant mountainous areas at an altitude of about 1,700 meters. Residents here are mostly Atayal aborigines. In Zhenxibao, giant trees are the highlight. A tour here should take at least two days and one night. Spend a night at a B&B running by the aborigines, so you can experience the life and culinary culture of Atayal people. According to the tribe's language, Zhenxibao (cinsbu in Atayal language) means "the place where the sun first shines in the early morning; a place blessed with year-round sunshine and fertile soil." The locals believe in the Presbyterian Church and the Catholicism. Brick by brick, they spent years building the churches with much toil, thereby making it worth a visit. In the tribe, you can still see the Atayal traditional architecture, such as bamboo built grain warehouses and an observatory made of wood. Besides, organic agriculture and vanilla planting are quite prosperous here, so it's quite healthy to have a meal here.
