Xishuikeng, Tai’an Township, Miaoli County 365, Taiwan (R.O.C.)
This street located in Taian Township, Miaoli County is famous for an abundance of restaurants serving the smoothest tofu due to the quality spring water used in the making of this silky goodness. Here, you can find all sorts of tofu dishes that come either pan-fried, deep-fried, stir-fried or in a soup. There are two popular eateries you should put on your list: Cingan Tofu and Old Street Beef Noodle. At Cingan Tofu, the most-ordered items on the menu are the deep-fried tofu balls and the crispy black tofu (made from black soybeans), while at Old Street Beef Noodle, one single thing you should never miss out is the three-color stinky tofu made from chartol, black soybeans and red yeast rice. When you take a bite together with the homemade garlic sauce and the Taiwanese sauerkraut, it will be a heavenly party in your mouth!
Cingan is also where both the Hakka and Atayal people reside, so you will find a pleasant mixture of these two cultures from yummilicious traditional cuisine to creative handicraft pieces.
