With a total length of 179 km, the Provincial Highway No.11 along the east coast stretches from the Jian Township of Hualien all the way to the Taimali Township of Taitung, with grand mountains on one side and the magnificent Pacific Ocean on the other. The spectacular drive through the highway features many attractions on the way, including Farglory Ocean Park, Jichi Beach, the Tropic of Cancer Marker, Baxian Cave, Sanxiantai, Zhiben, and many more.
An one-way journey through the Provincial Highway No.11 (plus the drive) takes at least five to six hours, so it is highly recommended to go on a two-day trip (or more) and spend a night in the Fengbin Township of Hualien. Every attraction along the way is unique in its own way: the Farglory Ocean Park is ideal for children and adults alike; the Jichi Beach is one of the premier surfing destinations in eastern Taiwan; the Tropic of Cancer Marker characterizes the geographic feature of Taiwan; the geological landscape and prehistoric site of Baxian Cave makes it a natural draw for visitors; the Zhiben Hot Spring is now a world-class tourism resource — every one of them is well worth a visit on your scenic drive along the Provincial Highway No.11.
