National Dong Hwa University (國立東華大學) is the largest university in Taiwan. It takes over 20 minutes to drive from one end of the campus to the other. The campus boasts three lakes - Dong Lake, Hua Lake, and Little Hua Lake - with Dong Lake being the most famous. Most of the university's buildings are situated by the lakes, offering beautiful views reminiscent of a European estate. In the past two years, design students have collaborated with the government to create a mural on the wall of the Seven Star Bay scenic area, providing a picturesque spot for visitors to take photos.
There is a scenic bridge spanning the lake, offering a great vantage point to admire the beauty of National Dong Hwa University (國立東華大學). The university was established to balance the development disparities between the eastern and western parts of Taiwan. The campus was previously a sugarcane plantation and has now transformed into a 251-hectare campus, attracting many tourists due to its picturesque environment.
National Dong Hwa University (國立東華大學) consists of seven colleges, one of which is dedicated to the study of indigenous peoples. Its mission is to focus on the protection and documentation of the precious heritage of indigenous peoples, including their language, technology, and legends.
