After all these years, Lukang Train Station (now a tourist information center) is no longer in operation but never fails to welcome visitors with a charm of yesteryear.

These nostalgic trains used to transport sugarcane during the Japanese Colonial Era, but the original train station has been torn down after the decline of the sugar industry. Even though the current station no longer has any transportation function, the quaint ambiance still makes it a crowd magnet in Lakang.

Shaded by the century-old Bishop wood, the rustic, wooden structure continues to serve the area with its utmost elegance and modesty. Inside the station, you will find a giant locomotive made in 1961 in Japan, and visitors often head to the platform to rest their weary feet. Lukang Train Station may be well past its prime, but it certainly retains some of its original charm and character.
