Address
No.73, Sec. 2, Lushun Rd., Beitun Dist., Taichung City 406, Taiwan (R.O.C.)
Having been around since 1990, Taichung Folklore Park boasts traditional Minnan-styled architecture with the running water, arch bridge and corridor as its backdrop. The exhibition areas provide an insightful look into the cultural history of early modern Taiwan. In order to create an open space that is people-friendly and an asset to the community, the outer walls were therefore torn down, and the underground parking was built to accommodate all visitors to Taichung Folklore Park.
The park is divided into two sections: Folk Hall and Folk Art Hall. The Folk Hall presents a wealth of household objects from the past; the lotus pond is a picturesque backdrop against a quaint pavilion in the garden. From time to time, the Folk Art Hall features on-site shows and activities including Chinese instrument performance, dragon and lion dances, and many more. If you get hungry during the visit, a Chinese restaurant that sits within the park offers a great variety of nostalgic tastes in the most traditional setting possible.
